Studio Rules for TOSS Events
General Studio Rules
Respect the space and materials. Use supplies as instructed and keep shared areas tidy.
Follow instructor guidance. Our teaching artists lead the project so everyone can enjoy the experience safely and confidently.
Food and drinks stay in the designated area. Drinks with lids are allowed away from art tables.
No running or rough play. This keeps the studio safe for all guests.
Wear clothes that can get messy. Aprons are provided, but art making can involve splashes and drips.
Children must remain in the studio area. Adults are responsible for supervising their own children before and after the event.
No wet artwork on furniture or walls. We will provide drying racks or designated spaces for finished pieces.
Alcohol is allowed only for external, adult events and not allowed in the TOSS space. Guests must be 21 or older.
Photography is welcome with consent. Please photograph your own group with their consent.
Respect for all participants is required. Bullying or disruptive behavior will result in removal from the activity.
Arrival Time Guests should arrive no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start.
Sibling Participation Siblings who want to make art are counted as participants and must be included in the final guest count.
Late Arrivals Late guests are welcome, but we cannot extend event time unless additional time has been purchased.
Take Home of Projects Most projects go home the same day. If clay projects need to be fired in the kiln, the host will receive instructions for pickup the following week.
Parent Participation Policy for Kids Parties
Kids parties are designed for children to create independently with the support of TOSS instructors.
Parents are welcome to stay in the studio space, watch, take photos, and socialize, but they do not participate in the project unless the host requests this in our form.
Parents are asked to allow the teaching artists to guide the project so children can focus and enjoy the experience.
For children under age 5, one parent or caregiver must remain on site in case extra assistance is needed.
If parents choose to drop off, at least one adult designated by the host must remain present for the entire event.
Parent Participation Options
If the host wants parents to create alongside the kids, they can select the “Kid's Party with Parent Participation ” booking in our form. This changes the project plan slightly and will adjust the pricing based on the number of adult participants.
Financial Transparency
Our custom workshop series helps fund scholarships for local students and schools so more young people can access high quality arts education. Once the basic costs of each event are covered, all remaining revenue goes directly into our scholarship fund. Your participation makes a real impact in our community.
Each workshop costs an average of $345 to run. This covers personnel, materials, administrative time, and essential overhead such as rent and utilities. We are committed to fair wages for our staff and interns, and this commitment is a key part of our pricing.
Thank you for supporting creative learning in Burke County. Your contribution truly matters.
