Fiber: Memory Bowls | June 28th | 2-4pm
Do you have a box of "too-special-to-toss" clothing or fabric? Let’s turn them into a Memory Bowl!
Whether it's commemorating a birth, a graduation, or honoring the memory of a loved one, this workshop teaches you how to stitch history into a functional piece of art. It’s a way to preserve a legacy in a form you can hold every day.
Join Andy Chrem, TOSS’ Summer Resident Artist for this beginner-friendly workshop where you'll learn the simple yet satisfying technique of coiling and stitching fabric strips to create a unique, sturdy bowl.
This class is perfect for anyone—no prior sewing or crafting experience is required!
You'll be guided step-by-step through the process, from preparing your fabric strips to coiling, shaping, and finishing your bowl. Bring your favorite fabric remnants, or use some from our stash.
Notes:
This class requires enough finger strength to be able to pull the needle through 3 layers of fabric.
You will leave class with a semi finished vessel and the knowledge and materials to finish it at home.
What fabric or clothing should I bring? The fabric should be T-Shirt or shirting weight, preferably 100% cotton or cotton blend. Please, No denim, sweaters or anything that's too bulky.
-12 people max (Adults only- over 18)
